For the flourishing of all life, we are passionate
about long-term science that tells us more about the relationships between people, natural ecosystems, and their valuable resources.
The Grasslands-Forests-Wetlands node is one of seven nodes within the South African Environmental Observation Network.
Our node works with communities and scientists to generate long-term environmental data and science, critical for sustainable life, in our changing world.
Long-term data is essential for a comprehensive understanding of global change.
The Grasslands-Forest-Wetlands node was established in January 2011.
In collaboration with a diverse group of scientists our observation platform has progressively expanded.
We encourage input from stakeholders to provide input and guidance in the continued development and functioning of these platforms to ensure robust and relevant science.
We are hosted by Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, the provincial conservation agency for KwaZulu-Natal, at their headquarters in Queen Elizabeth Park, Pietermaritzburg.
Working in close collaboration with Ezemvelo, and a diverse set of community representatives and scientists, helps us ensure our science is relevant, and innovative.
